On Wednesday 25 June, join us on campus for a series of talks about the study of the Ancient World in the Midlands, in the past, present, and future! The events are entirely free, and open to everyone. Classics 125 is presented by the Department of Classics, Ancient History, and Archaeology.

Public lecture with Professor Alice Roberts

Join Professor Alice Roberts for a public lecture exploring the interface between sciences and the humanities, ad the place of Classics in a civic university today.

Since 2012, she has served as the Professor of Public Engagement with Science here at Birmingham. Having originally studied and practicing medicine in Cardiff, Roberts left clinical medicine and earned a PhD in Paleopathology. She has been honoured with eight honorary doctorates and in 2020 received the Royal Society's David Attenborough Award for Public Engagement.

Since 2001, Roberts has presented over a hundred TV documentaries on human biology, history, and archaeology. She has also authored fourteen popular science and history books.
