The Jewish Society are welcoming a presentation by John Fieldsend, who will share his story of coming to the UK as a child through the Kindertransport scheme, escaping through Czechoslovakia with his brother and leaving his parents behind. He will also give insights from his book A Wondering Jew.
Holocaust Memorial Day – which is on the 27th of January – is an international day of remembrance which marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Berkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. On this annual day of commemoration, we all bear witness for those who were murdered in genocide and honour the survivors and all whose lives were changed beyond recognition.
