The Culture Forward department are working with the Race Equality Network to host a screening of the Channel 4 Documentary ‘Defiance: Fighting the Far Right’.

This seminal documentary shows the stories of various South Asian communities standing up to the Far Right groups in the UK.

From 1976 to 1981, Britain's Asian community stood tall against far-right violence and a rising tide of racist murders. The screening takes a look at the events that led to the Southall protests, the killing of Blair Peach and the battle for Brick Lane.

The screening will be accompanied by a series of academic talks and a Q&A sourced by Culture Forward.

Register in advance.
