Throughout Black History Month B Film and the Race Equality Network are collaborating to deliver a range of film screenings followed by facilitated discussions.
This screening is of Girlhood, hosted by Professor Rob Stone from B Film. This 2014 French drama focuses on the life of four young, black women from suburban Paris. Following the Black History Month theme of Reclaiming Narratives, this film reviews the narrative of what it means to be a woman in modern day France, and described by The Guardian as ‘the film which busts the myth of conventional French femininity’.
This screening is open to all University of Birmingham staff and students. Register now.
